Poppy Wolff was part of the 104th Trainee Squad, and came in 17th in her year's rank. She entered the Scouts Regiment to avenge her childhood friend's death―Mina Carolina. She became rather good friends with Marco Bodt and Jean Kitstchen.

Poppy had found out that her father may have been killed by the fall of Wall Maria. She was rather pleased about it, being that she greatly disliked her father for leaving her and her mother with little money for a rich, prosperous woman from Sina who was foolishly wooed by his sugar-coated words. (Being a merchant, Poppy's father was "unfortunately" in the wrong place and time in the outermost wall.)

As for her mother, she had successfully escaped and survived the tragedy, although traumatized by the Titans. When Poppy announced she would become a soldier, her mother was hesitant, but had told her to do whatever she wanted, because that was the only freedom her mother could give her. Poppy is now fighting for freedom beyond the walls.

Poppy was never the best in combat, but her optimism and determination had put her in the 17th place in the 104th Trainee Squad. However, since she had always been running around and active in her childhood days, she has great endurance.

Meeting Eren Jaeger and his friends in her trainee days, Poppy then befriends him for having the same goal―but along the way, had developed a small crush on the Titan shifter. (Poppy was at first shocked and was unsure of Eren's identity when revealed he cans shift into a Titan. Soon she accepted him for who he was and had then liked him more, now that he had become a great hope for humanity.) She also gets caught up in a fight with Jean a lot, but she excepts him as friend nevertheless. When Marco had passed away, Poppy and Jean were there to comfort each other and not bicker for once.

Additional Info*: She used to have short, choppy hair and was often mistaken for a boy in her trainee days, till she had started to grow them out little by little, admiring Mina's feminine characteristics, like her hair. Ever since Mina had passed away, Poppy tied her hair in two pigtails in honor of her memory. Jean usually picks on Poppy because of her hair and says "tying your hair like that won't make you girly". Later on Jean was told by Armin why she ties it up like that and Jean felt bad for teasing and stopped. (Shame on you, Jean!)

Her pompous personality was rather troublesome because she had continued to say that she knows how to fix her own gear, but actually struggles a lot. She got better at it after a while, though.
