It was the night of the 102nd Trainees Squad recruiting to the Scouting Legions. Lance Corporal Levi stood behind the curtains on the platform in which the 13th Commander of the Scouting Legion, Sir Erwin Smith stood.

Among the sea of trainees, Levi could identify ___(name)___– famous for her great potential and creditable skill. Compared to other trainee soldiers, she was called a warrior, thus making Revaille rather interested in her.

But all he could notice at that moment, were how her eyes shone like how a wolf would glare through the cracks of trees at their prey during the dead of night. It reflected a fierce passion , and also were filled with life.

___(name)___ killed a total of around 34 Titans, by herself, even before she joined the Scouting Legion, according to what Revaille read in several documents based on her. The Corporal, without second thought, decided it'd be best if someone like the young soldier joined the Scouting Legion. In the end, she was one of the few who remained before the platform, determined to kill Titans and bring back hope to humanity.

After her recruit to Levi's squad, there soon was an expedition beyond the walls. There, Levi understood why people found her rather monstrous. She was merciless and malevolent on the battlefield, fighting the titans. She may have been as fast as the Corporal, and she made sure each Titan suffered. It was as though a simple slice on the back of a Titan's neck was not enough for her. It could be well compared to one shooting an enemy in the head twice to make sure it was completely dead.

___(name)___ survived the expedition, and many of the other cadets and members of the Scouting Legion recognized and feared her.

"___(name)___, she... She's a monster!"

"Her sadistic nature makes me wonder if she's even human."

Two cadets spoke upon the Scouting Legion's return from the expedition. Before Levi could scold the two, he recognized a familiar figure stride past him. ___(name)___'s hair swayed as she walked down the hall, towards the cadets that spoke badly of her. The heels of her boots made a click clack sound as they came in contact with the floor.

She swiftly took the cadet by the collar of his shirt and pressed him against the wall behind him. "I do not think Titans are predators. They are my prey, therefore I do not fear them. However that does not mean that I do not fear death. That does not mean I feel broken after seeing death. That is proof I am human."

She may have been a bit out of control on the battle fields, however, as time passed, many recognized her passionate, caring side of her. Corporal Levi, especially, noticed her strong-hearted nature, as well as her kindness that seemed to make the Corporal feel out of his comfort zone.

"Eren Jäger, a boy who can take on the form of a a Titan, huh... Lifted the boulder in Shiganshina District to seal the gap in Wall Rosé."

___(name)___ read one of the documents on the Corporal's desk, carefully tapping the stack of finished paperwork on the edge of the table to make it even. Levi's stern, blue eyes remained emotionless as he leaned on his propped arm, scanning through the stacks of new paperwork.

"Might I help with that? Or if not, please do allow me to at least serve you coffee."

"___(name)___ , you must sleep. Are you not busy tomorrow?"

"Surprisingly not, sir."

"Gives more of a reason you should sleep. Rest."

"And if I repeat those words right back at you, sir? You seem tired."

"It is a command, ___(name)___."

"I refuse."

For the first time in a while, Levi looked up to see ___(name)___ staring at him in the eyes. He was struck by how the dim candlelight reflected her beauty, and how her __(hair color)__ hair framed her face elegantly.

"Very well then, do as you please." Levi said, trying to hide smallest hint of emotions that started to build within him. "Also, we will depart with Jäger on horse to the old castle headquarters to hide him before noon."

"Understood, Corporal. I've heard you've been rough with him."

"It was necessary, ___(name)___. A monst-"

Revaille paused. He had been careful not to use the word "monster" around ___(name)___. He did not want to hurt her in any way.

"Monster, sir? I'd agree, however, if he truly is an asset, I'd consider him my friend."

"Not all monsters are evil. Everyone has a monster within."

"How about you, Corporal? Do you have the beast of a clean-freak in you?"

"If you think that was funny, you'd better fetch me that coffee you considered serving."

"Yessir."

Did I hurt her? Levi wondered as he replayed the last few seconds of the conversation in his mind. ___(name)___ may have been a strong, powerful soldier, however, in Levi's eyes, she seemed to be the most delicate flower. One much to rare and pure to wither.

Erd Gin, Petra Ral, Auruo Bossard, Gunter Shulz, and ___(name)___ are the members of the Special Operations Squad–members hand picked by Revaille, himself. The elite squad rode on their horses with the Titan soldier, Eren, to the old castle headquarters, now remodeled.

The first thing ___(name)___ noticed was how the Jäger boy's eyes were. They were a beautiful shade of turquoise, and it was lively. ___(name)___ leaned over to Petra and whispered,

"Don't you wonder what kind of Titan Eren can transform into? I don't mean to sound like Zoe, but how is that even possible?"

"I thought you were with Sir Levi when he killed the several Titans by Wall Rosé."

"I was with the injured. And you, Petra?"

"I did not get a chance to see Eren in his Titan form. I'm really... scared though."

"No one would blame you for doubting him. But if worse comes to the worse, we will trust Captain Revaille."

Petra nodded and the two girls looked forward and kept galloping on their horses. Auruo was seen leaning towards the hooded Jägar boy and was attempting to intimidate him.

"I don't know the deal with this crap about you being a Titan, but we can't have Corporal babysit you–"

And at that moment Auruo bit his tongue, and Eren's eyes widened, surprised at the sudden cry of pain. Auruo's horse fell back next to Petra, and while Petra scolded the tongue-bitten soldier, ___(name)___ galloped next to Eren.

"Sorry about that. Auruo talks too much while riding his horse. Despite his high Titan kill record he could be an arrogant, egoistic, idiot."

A muffled, "What did you just call me?!" could be heard from behind the two, and they share a small laugh.

"My name is ___(name)___. Welcome to the Scouting Legion."

"I'd tell you my name, but I guess you already know."

"Why yes, you're already pretty famous. I'm just... Going to warn you about a certain, crazy person named Zoe Hangi."

"Who's that?"

"You'll see."

It was only several days after Eren's friends from the 104th Trainees Squad recruited to the Scouting Legion. A spy had killed Sawney and Bean, Zoe's two Titan friends, and the Scouting Legion was wary. Mikasa and ___(name)___ we're roommates, and Mikasa often asked her how Eren was before she joined.

"He was and will always be doing fine–though I do feel bad that he has to be in the basement downstairs."

"That's a relief. And how about that midg–excuse me– Corporal."

"Ah! Yes, you must hate him now, ever since he's been violent towards Eren at the court. You tried to stop him right?"

Mikasa nodded, with a hint of anger reflecting in her stern eyes.

"Levi's intentions are for the good, I believe. Please trust him."

Mikasa turned around without responding. She seemed greatly attached to Eren, and she was indeed strong. She may as well beat me up bad if I were to get on her bad side. ___(name)___ thought.

Later on that evening, cleaning shifts changed to the cadets, and ___(name)___ decided to check up on Eren.

"Aha! Found you in the cafeteria!"

"Wha-? Oh, good evening, ___(name)___."

"No need for the formalities. How is life in the dungeon downstairs?"

"You just had to ask that. I'm getting used to feeling like a prisoner."

"I wouldn't like that. How do you take your coffee?"

"Black. Just black for this evening."

___(name)___ smiled as she poured the same for herself and placed the mug in front of Eren on the table.

"You've got a long day tomorrow, so I'm guessing Revaille let you off the hook for cleaning."

"Yeah, I just hope I can do well on tomorrow's experiment."

"Well, sleep well tonight. Too much coffee isn't good for you."

"You should tell the Corporal that."

"I sure will, Eren. You're such a sweet guy."

Eren found his blood pressure rise, heating up his face. Before ___(name)___ left the cafeteria, she turned around, facing him with a stern look.

"I'll tell you this now before it's too late. Not everyone trusts you. But don't forget that one can never have complete trust from someone. Doubt is just part of the human nature."
